ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Install commercial HVAC systems in accordance with established building codes. • Coordinate with General Contractor on scheduling and logistics matters, including but not limited to ordering equipment and scheduling deliveries thereof. • Perform commercial wiring and mechanical repair as needed in relation to HVAC systems. • Installation of ducting, thermostats, piping, and related HVAC components in accordance with established building codes. • Test, diagnose, troubleshoot HVAC issues that may arise during or following installation. • In accordance with prescribed procedures and performance limitations, operate those elements of the system for which MMT is responsible until project completion. • Issue directions and instructions to assigned personnel as required. Evaluate personnel performance capabilities and training on a regular basis and communicate needs with leadership. • Ensure that construction log forms are completed accurately and clearly on a regular basis. • Perform corrective action as needed per contract specifications. • Respond immediately to emergency situations, initiate emergency operations procedures and advise Client Representatives and MMT leadership when resolution of an emergency exceeds the capability of the shift personnel. • Control, maintain accountability, and oversee the issuance, use, and maintenance of parts and tools. • Train and direct assigned technicians on facility and company standard operating procedures. • Perform any additional duties on an as needed basis and as requested by MMT leadership. • Safely and skillfully use all types of related hand and power tools. QUALIFICATIONS • Preferred: Graduate of a Technical or Trade School, with training in mechanical or related systems. • Preferred: Skillful in the installation of commercial rooftop units. • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and operation of commercial HVAC Systems. • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing HVAC technicians. • Ability to communicate effectively with Client Representatives; ability to write effectively in preparing reports and forms. • Able to read blueprints, specifications, Building Operations Services manuals, pneumatic, and/or electric control drawings, etc. • Valid driver’s license as required to drive any vehicles which may be assigned. • Ability to safely wear a respirator, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform other physically demanding tasks. • Able to efficiently adapt new equipment to existing duct work, electrical, flues and drains. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS In a typical day, must be able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand and walk; to use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motion; and to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to move objects in excess of 100 pounds, and travel by company or personal vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required.
