People and products make our organization the leader that it is today. Job Description: This is an advanced HVAC Technician positon. The person for this position must have many years of varying experience in the industry and must have hands on skills with the equipment. This can include residential furnaces and ACs, Duct Free Split products, small and large RTUs, chillers, applied AHUs, and VRF products. Knowledge of these products is needed for startup, troubleshooting and technical support. This is a field and office position with rotations for phone technical support. Job Requirements: This positon requires the minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Also technical training, vocational school or apprenticeship for the HVAC industry. Five years in the industry is a minimum requirement. Basic set of tools for the trade are required to start with company provided large ones. Basic computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office products needed. Good Customer Relations is a must for this position. Position Responsibilities - Includes but not limited to: * Technical Support * Face to face customer support. Customers may be in building and have technical questions regarding equipment installation or troubleshooting. The CAD technician needs to be able to clearly describe the needed step to address questions. * Phone technical support. CAD technician will be required to answer phone support calls pertaining to supported products and skills related to the HVAC industry. Skills required are: * Ability to read and walk another technician through a wiring diagram * Clearly explain operation and sequence of equipment. * Be able to find and use resources for technical information. This can include local drives, stored databases and the internet. Also be able to share these documents – email. * Field Technical Support * Meeting customers at homes and jobsite to review equipment operation and troubleshooting. * Field startup of equipment * Field startups are typically commercial equipment and requires the ability to climb extension, step and vertical access ladders. Work at heights and in extreme weather conditions. * Startups can include commercials RTUs, chillers, commercial and residential split systems, VRF systems, MUA units and other HVAC equipment. * Thorough inspection and adjustments are required for prepping equipment and careful measurements and evaluations are needed for equipment startup. * In-house and Field Unit Modifications * Modifications are done to units when time constraints or option is not available from the factory. These are typically done at a Lohmiller branch but are required to be done in the field sometimes. * Refrigeration and electrical changes might include additional of hot gas bypass, disconnects, VFDs or convenience outlets. * All modifications must be done according to industry standards and codes. * Use of hand tools, * Field Warranty Support * In some instances “Factory Warranty Repairs” are needed to be performed by CAD Technician. This could include refrigeration repairs, electrical component diagnostics and replacement or controls troubleshooting of equipment. * Technical Training * This is an optional role but one on one training is needed to familiarize customers with products and skills to install and repair products. * If this is a skill the Cad technician utilizes, Leading Dealer Training and Contractor Training is done in a classroom setting as well as in the field with equipment. Training can be done during normal business hours and after hours. After hour training is compensated extra. * Skills for this include public speaking, PowerPoint presentations, live demonstrations and a firm grasp of the fundamentals of electricity and HVAC equipment operation, troubleshooting. This job has physical - as well as mental components. CAD Technical Support Technicians need to be able to use relevant tools and software; they also must possess excellent customer service skills to communicate with clients. The ability to squat, kneel, bend, and perform other physical movements required during repair is also necessary. Lifting requirements may exceed 75 lbs. Most of the time, CAD Support Technicians work during regular business hours, but they may respond to work outside of these times. They often work 40 hours a week, although additional hours may be required. Position is full time. Monday through Friday. No on-call.
