Job Description:
Lohmiller & Company dba Carrier West is a leading HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) distributor in the Rocky Mountain region for over 20 years. We are looking for an individual who will be a Controls Start-Up Tech (CST) The group this individual will be working with is our Controls Department which is part of Operations. This position reports to the Controls Field Supervisor or Project Manager. Key Responsibilities: Under general supervision, responsible for static (stand alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) programming, commissioning and troubleshooting building control and Facility Management Systems per engineered drawings, sequences and BOM while ensuring customer satisfaction. The CST performs all work with knowledge of the available resources to complete the project with-in expected company financial requirements. Essential Functions: ? Responsible for total system operation and loading of software for Facilities Management Systems. ? Performs stand alone and total building interactive network software programming. ? Configures operator work stations and all required software. ? Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. ? Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a lap top computer. ? Interprets Carrier West engineering system control drawings as to layouts, location and operation of electronic hardware. ? Complete all required commissioning documentation. ? Provides accurate information for as-built documentation. ? Performs site specific training for owner/operator on the total system as directed. ? Assists with turnover to service. Requirements: ? Minimum four years related experience in mechanical or electrical/electronic technology preferred. ? Minimum 3 years’ experience in Controls Installation and system start-up or 3 years’ experience in Commercial Controls Service. ? Knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry to include focus on heating and ventilating air conditioning systems. ? Experience with open protocol systems such as Tridium and Carrier Open is desirable. ? Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience. ? Strong personal computer skills with 3rd party software.
