Job Description:
What is Sparkfund? Sparkfund powers organizations by providing a new way to access energy systems - a subscription to advanced energy technology. We partner with trusted brands including major utilities, energy retailers, and contractors to deliver the Sparkfund Technology Subscription™. The technology subscription has enabled more than 200 medium-sized and enterprise businesses to accelerate adoption of new energy systems across their portfolio of buildings. End customers use the technology subscription as a strategy to accelerate adoption of new energy systems across their building portfolios without diverting time or money away from core business growth. Sparkfund seeks to create positive change by deploying solutions that make good business sense and are good for the planet. Job Description The Sr. Manager or Director, Project Management and Delivery is a new role at Sparkfund designed to provide an excellent customer experience to customers who are utilizing Sparkfund’s Technology Subscription to procure energy technologies across multiple installation sites. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and working closely with our COO and CEO, you will have significant autonomy to shape this new role and build a team, applying industry standards and your personal experiences to drive operational excellence at Sparkfund. You will work directly with manufacturers, contractors, and installers externally to coordinate regional, national and global scale programmatic installations from audit through final installation. You will champion the customer’s viewpoint to Sparkfund to ensure satisfaction with Sparkfund’s services and to achieve customer acceptance upon final installation, in accordance with contract terms. This is a single new role, and the title will depend on the finalist’s prior experience in a similar type of opportunity. Here’s what you’ll get to do: - Grow and lead the team that is responsible for installing and maintaining energy technology for Sparkfund’s customers globally - Coordinate, control, and define the outputs of building audits to assess opportunities for lighting, mechanical, and building controls retrofits, sometimes handling multiple audits for a single site - Select appropriate contractors from Sparkfund’s approved partners list for each job, factoring in technology expertise and geography - Act as the customer advocate to ensure that all customer site visits provide an excellent customer experience, serving as point of contact for the customer throughout project implementation, and responding to questions, concerns, and complaints along the way - Hold installers accountable to expectations for the customer in the sales process, including implementation timeline and performance standards - Lead internal and external processes during installation of Sparkfund projects - Work to continually improve Sparkfund’s processes by documenting and updating policies, while providing feedback to Sparkfund leadership on experiences with customers and partners - Review project proposals from our contractors What you'll need to be successful: - 6+ years of prior field experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, Construction Management, Sales Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or related areas - Knowledge of the commercial and industrial construction industry - Prior experience in sustainability or energy efficiency, to include a knowledge of mechanical systems and/or the HVAC industry and vendors - Demonstrated success in project management of multiple projects simultaneously, and of complex problem solving and solutions development to specified results and outcomes - Consistent track record of working collaboratively with a myriad of individuals across company teams, including sales, finance, and operations teams - Ability to communicate complex topics with simplicity and clarity to non-technical stakeholders - Strong relationship management and customer service skills - Comfort with day-to-day operations using software and cloud-based information management tools including Google docs and sheets, Gmail, and Google Drive; past experience with Asana (or other task management software) is also a plus - Dedication to what we’re building at Sparkfund to make an impact through increasing access to new better energy technology and systems worldwide You can be a great candidate even if you don't fit everything we've described above. You can also have important skills we haven't thought of. If that's you, don't hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself. We strive to make advanced energy technology accessible to all to make our planet a better place. Diversity on our team is key to meeting that goal; by fostering a culture of empowerment, enabling innovation, and surfacing new ideas that can translate universally, we’ll solve tougher challenges as a group and reach more customers who can benefit from our solutions. We know that if we’re going to change the world, we need to create a space for people to bring their whole selves to work each and every day. We’re not quite there yet, but we are committed to diversity and building an equitable and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and experiences, and we're taking steps to meet that commitment. We especially encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including women, people of color, LGBTQ people, veterans, and people with disabilities.
