Summary: This position installs, maintains, tests and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration systems and components to residential, commercial, industrial, and other buildings as assigned by dispatch or other management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Installs and Services all types of commercial and residential air conditioning, ventilation equipment, refrigeration and ice machines with minimal supervision. • Operates a variety of tools and equipment required to service, troubleshoot and install diverse equipment profiles • Diagnoses of all types of air conditioning/refrigeration systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain system performance • Functional understanding of diverse control systems • Up to date literacy and understanding of industry trends and technical developments. • Accurately and completely prepares and executes all electronic documentation and job specific paperwork (e.g. service records, requisitions, work performed, invoicing etc.) for the purpose of providing written support on work performed and/or conveying information. • Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g. torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, sheet metal, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating condition. • Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site. • Must participate in on-call service schedule and/or after-hours installations in respond to customer emergency situations as required • Maintains open lines of communication with Property Managers, Homeowners and site Managers as related to their needs and concerns. • Respond to customer needs by performing preventive maintenance and repairing and/or replacing equipment • May meet contractors, homeowners, engineers etc. for the purpose of discussing problems with new installations and/or repair. • Coordinates with customer service, supervisor or other managers, as needed to complete projects/work orders • Communicate with customer service, supervisor or other managers on job progress and future scheduling requirements • Serves as mentor and may provide training to Apprentice level Techs. • Facilitate Cap reporting in conjunction with established time frames and promote customer purchase commitments. • Actively promotes company sales and profitability (5% annual growth rate and 47% or greater gross profit) goals within the assigned account profile. • Profit and Loss Accountability in area of Responsibility Experience/ Qualifications: • High school diploma or its equivalent required. • Ability to work with minimal supervision with high levels of proficiency • Must have completed a two-year technical program in an accredited technical college and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience or have completed 10 years field experience in the HVAC or controls industry. • Proven competency in installing all types of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and ice machine equipment including but not limited to ductwork, piping and control wiring including start up. The ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas. • Working knowledge of Airside Trouble Shooting and Test and Balance Principles. • Must have a working knowledge of airside balancing and adjustment and system design. • Must be universally certified in refrigerant handling. • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. • Must be familiar with troubleshooting and repair of all types of pneumatic, electronic and digital controls too include offsite monitoring and adjustments. • Possess strong verbal communication skills. • Must possess ability to learn/understand basic mathematical formulas. • Ability to establish effective working relationships with peers and superiors, and customers. • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to drive safely to various work locations. • Willing to work any shift and overtime as required. • Drug Free
