They will assist all Estimators and the Estimating Department by compiling spec sheets, paperwork, load calculations and performing duties to ensure all estimates are completed on time. General Supervision: receives close supervision related to specific work activities, assignments, methods, etc.; usually frequent surveillance over activities, occasional work checked while in progress. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am - 5pm with one hour lunch break. May be required to work additional time as needed to complete project assignments on schedule. The following tasks/responsibilities are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule. Tasks & Responsibilities: ? Input building data on computer. ? Support estimators by with energy calcs, duct estimates, compile submittals, duct takeoff, etc. ? Learn necessary software (MS-Office and Energy-Gage, Wright-Soft, Fast-Duct, CAD) in timely fashion to perform duties required. ? Performing E Calc Calculations in Energy gage. ? Understating and using Energy Gauge Program. ? Other duties as assigned. Relationship to Others The Estimating Technician reports directly to the Estimating Manager and may work closely with other management team and with internal support staff. Optimally, over time the Estimating Technician will have increased opportunity and assume increased responsibility for meeting department’s needs. It is therefore necessary that the Estimating Technician maintain a satisfactory client relationship, relating to vendors, clients and fellow team members in a mature, thoughtful, professional and pleasant manner. Minimally, the Estimating Technician must display a demeanor that exhibits our Mission Statement and Core Values, as well as show empathy, patience, understanding and a genuine interest in others. The Estimating Technician will perform a lead role in promoting interdepartmental communications and cooperation. Required Skills/qualifications: ? Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook and the Internet Explorer. ? Blueprint experience. ? Basic understanding of Construction. ? Ability to work independently and a willingness to learn. ? Able to maintain a positive attitude and have flexibility to work under pressure. ? Able to multi-task and to meet deadlines. ? Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. ? Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. Working Conditions: ? Inside office, with possibility to accompany estimators for field visits and job sites. ? Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility. Education and Formal Training: ? High School diploma or GED preferred. ? Exposure to CADD software preferred but not necessary Experience: ? Prefer 1-2 years HVAC Experience. Materials and Equipment Used: ?
