Job Summary: Primarily responsible for performing all trim outs of A/C systems following procedure checklists and ensure ac system passes inspections. Attention to detail (Quality Control (QC) Assessment) is critical to with each install in order to minimize all call backs and warranty costs. Leadership Role - The Trim-Out Technician independently performs most assignments with minimal instructions but may still require general technical guidance on more complex routine tasks, unusual or complex problems, or acclimation to local conditions. This position is expected to help mentor/coach less experienced field staff in order to help them develop their technical skills regarding documentation, hvac installation knowledge, processes, procedures and understanding the high level of customer service and safety in the field. Supervision: General Supervision Reports to Field Supervisor, who then reports to the Department Manager. Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; Allowed to proceed alone at routine work; occasional work is checked while in progress; work is reviewed upon completion. Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-4:30 pm, with ½ hour for lunch. Extended hours when necessary, especially during season are common from April through November. Each employee is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule. Tasks & Responsibilities: 1. Always use a Safety First (PAUSE) approach to all work. 2. Always use the proper safety clothing, tools and precautions before beginning any work assignments. 3. Be knowledgeable of all products 4. Arrive on time and ready to begin work every day. 5. Possess all the required tools to perform the job. 6. Trim-Out Technician is ultimately responsible for QC install and safety on the job. 7. Trim-Out Technician is ultimately responsible in maintaining a clean and properly stocked installation truck at all times (Review job packet for materials with Supervisor prior to leaving office each morning). 8. Complete each and every trim out with Quality Control Techniques (QC) thoroughly, efficiently and without need for a call back (Attention to Detail for Quality Control). 9. Discuss all repair/replace options available with the supervisor before performing repair. 10. Utilize the Internet based technical training offered by the company and complete HVAC classes. 11. Own or work towards owning all of the necessary hand tools for typical service of all air conditioning systems and components. 12. Complete all warranty paperwork, timesheets and service related forms accurately, legibly and efficiently (Attention to Detail for Quality Control). 13. Complete all vehicle inventories consistently, accurately, legibly and efficiently (Attention to Detail). 14. Install grills, copper, fan equipment accurately and efficiently. Quality Install is Critical!! 15. Properly wire hvac systems (Attention to Detail for Quality Control). 16. Pressure system to 175 PSI with nitrogen (Attention to Detail for Quality Control). 17. Knowledge of ductwork and equipment installation 18. Other duties as needed Relationship to Others The Trim-Out Technician reports directly to the Field Supervisor and may work closely with other management team members and with internal support staff. Optimally, over time the Trim-Out Technician will have increased opportunity and assume increased responsibility for meeting department's needs. It is therefore necessary that the Trim-Out Technician maintain a satisfactory client relationship, relating to vendors, field supervisors and fellow team members in a mature, thoughtful, professional and pleasant manner. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 21. Good communication skills both verbal and written are vital. 22. Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills. 23. Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety. 24. Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. 25. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception. 26. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. 27. Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. 28. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: 30. Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders or attic stairs and to maneuver in attics to access HVAC equipment. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoops, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. 31. May require outside work in cold, hot or wet weather. May require work in awkward or cramped positions and sometimes required to work in high places (at least 10' or more). 32. Will require mobility throughout all facilities including stairs and confined spaces. 33. Will be required to reach areas not easily accessible by means of climbing, stooping, and bending. 34. Will require heavy work (lifting greater than 25 pounds). Ability to carry 50 lbs for 100 feet unassisted 35. Will require proper coordination, and motor skills to work with power/hand tools as needed. 36. Ability to work overtime when necessary. Education, Formal Training & Experience: 37. Must posses a valid driver's license 38. High School diploma or GED preferred. 39.
