Job Description:
Candidate must perform all aspects of developing preliminary and /or definitive detailed estimates and written proposals for labor, materials and equipment associated with HVAC construction projects. Obtain and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor pricing for compliance with project specifications and drawings. Attend pre-bid site meetings, verify site conditions and interface directly with owners, developers and general contractors. Electronically maintain records of all working documents and data to back up estimates and proposals. Assist, organize, prioritize and disseminate any documentation or information needed by construction personnel to complete the construction/installation of the estimated work. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Competency with computerized estimating. Ability to read, interpret and understand mechanical prints and specifications. Ability to manually takeoff a job. Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with good communicative and writing abilities. Manage the bid preparation and formal written proposal process in its entirety. Knowledge of sheet metal. Ability to work under tight deadlines with an emphasis on multitasking. Detail oriented with excellent organizational time management skills. Ability to understand and coordinate the construction/installation of our mechanical systems with the work of other building trades as well as project architects and engineers. Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 3-5 years of proven successful experience preparing estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC projects utilizing computerized estimation, Successful candidate must have the ability to provide a complete commercial HVAC construction estimate and proposal for either plan/spec or design/build projects including sheet metal work. Established personal contacts with developers, design engineers, general contractors, field experience, Familiarity with plumbing, hydronic piping will be considered a plus.
