HVAC technicians need to have relevant education and/or experience. The HVAC technician also must be familiar with all the tools used to maintain and repair equipment. The ability to work directly with customers, other technicians, and managers is required; this includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Job Requirements: You must be able to install, repair, and maintain rooftop units, split systems, central plants, controls, pneumatics, other mechanical equipment along with: · Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience as a HVAC Technician. · Must have the ability to repair and maintain the systems and their components, as well as troubleshoot electrical systems and write schematics for their work locations. · Must be proactive in ensuring that preventative maintenance of all equipment is done promptly to prevent future problems with equipment. · Must also look for inefficiencies in systems to find the source of any current or possible malfunctions. · Will dismantle equipment as necessary when needed to troubleshoot the system or ensure that the equipment is properly maintained. · Technician is responsible for documenting the work they complete daily. · Traveled extensively throughout assigned region to provide prompt service to new and existing customers. · Achieved high ratio of customer satisfaction and lowest rate of repeat service calls for initial installation. · Be able to recognize and perform efficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on building and facility HVAC systems. · Tested, troubleshot, and repaired systems by identifying malfunctions and replacing parts and components. Be able to read specifications · Demonstrated exceptional time management skills; organized and prioritized high volume of work orders to ensure maximum quality and service to customers. In addition to these responsibilities, much of the work takes place outside in varying weather and extended work hours through the summer months. The employee may need to lift as much as 50 pounds of equipment at any given time.
