Job Description:
Working Field Foreman Position Our Service Team is responsible for servicing all system issues on time, ensuring customer satisfaction. These Technicians are accountable for troubleshooting and repairing customer systems, performing scheduled maintenance, performing warranty work, and suggesting and performing system improvements, modifications, etc. This position does require you to work outside normal working hours including evenings, weekends. We have a strong focus on customer satisfaction, and profitability. Responsibilities • Work closely with the Sales Department and Service Manager to ensure timely, profitable and complete installations, and service work. • Must have the ability find issues, and repair HVAC equipment. • Must have an EPA card. • Review scope of work and required materials for each job • Ensure pictures are taken prior to and after the installation, and warranty projects. Qualifications • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive details; must be able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented. • Ability to interact effectively with General Contractors, Labor Subcontractors, Commercial Clients, and internal Sluss Padgett personnel at all levels of the organization. • Must have a Solid reputation of highest integrity and excellent work ethic. • Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in previous 7 years. • Must pass criminal background, credit check and drug screen in accordance with the Drug Free Work Zone requirements. • Experience with one or more of the following; Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG and Samsung mini splits • Experience with commercial application RTU’s, ERU’s, WSHP’s, VRF’s PIU, VAV. • Chiller, boiler, and cooling tower experience a plus • Pool Pak experience or any certification is a plus • Refrigeration experience is a plus Education and/or Experience • A High School Diploma or equivalent • 5-7 years of experience in commercial HVAC Industry. An equivalent or combination of education (Technical School) and experience is an acceptable substitute; however, a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Communication skills • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, drawings. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to General Contractors, Labor Subcontractors and internal personnel. Certifications • EPA • Additional certifications are a plus Computer skills • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) • Proficient in using the Internet to research information, as well as use MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word Physical Requirements • Requires constant movement including considerable use of arms and legs, movement of the entire body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and handling of materials. Considerable time is spent using hands to handle, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect control or feel objects, tools or controls. Climbing stairs and ladders, balancing, ascending/descending, working atop of buildings or floors and on roofs is required the majority of the job. Must be able to work from heights using ladders, scaffolds or lifts. Must be able to carry, move, transport, position, install, remove or continuously lift weight up to 75 lbs. Must be able to work with majority exposure to outdoor weather conditions. • Worker must be able to ascend/descend ladders. Worker must be able to meet a ladder duty rating up to Type IAA (Extra Heavy Duty) of 375 lbs. Total weight consideration includes employee weight, weight of clothing and PPE, weight of tools and supplies carried, and the weight of tools and supplies stored on the ladder. • Worker is regularly required to sit, talk, see and hear. The ability to communicate, speak and understand clearly is required the majority of the time. Work environment • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. • Required to work after hours and on call rotation. Duties and Responsibilities: • Your number one focus it to provide the service manager relief of day to day calls for support. • You will be required to perform at a higher level, and lead by example. • Service uniforms will need to be worn and you will need to set that example. • You will help with recruitment, retention, development and succession-planning for direct and indirect reports, fostering a positive workplace environment which empowers Technicians to perform at their best. • Lead, manage, direct, and provide technical & leadership guidance to all direct and indirect reports. • Assist in the development and implementation of service agreements and the execution of them correctly. • Monitors services provided and provide customer feedback. • Work efficiently, removing obstacles for the team to be financially successful, by not having excessive hours on job. • Maintain an active role in continuous improvement efforts, PMA pull through, and customer satisfaction. • Assist or lead operational team to investigate and resolve customer complaints quickly and bring them to the service manager for review and resolution. • Provide technical and statistical expertise to team, this will require working on your skillset. • Training individuals and the team to promote a culture of continuous improvement. • Assist in the development of the team, the issues we are having with poor PMA service will stop. • Work with the service Manager on Goals and Financial Objectives for direct reports and conduct periodic performance evaluations. • Plan and develop procedures testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills. • Demonstrated analytical thinking abilities with technical orientation applicable to equipment design and identification of system issues, not just components. • You will be required to step it up and Lead the way, not follow. • Possesses excellent human relations skills. Containing aggression will be important. • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate and influence across functions and at all levels of the organization. • Project a positive, solution-seeking attitude in all business interactions. • Experience implementing continuous improvement on projects or processes with demonstrated results. • Provide Strong project management, statistical aptitude, strong quantitative and analytical skills. • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.
