Job Description:
Testing & Balancing Technicians: Inspect, test, adjust, and balance heating, cooling, and ventilating systems in commercial and industrial buildings, using specialized tools and test equipment, to attain performance standards specified in system design. Study system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components, such as motors, pumps, fans, switches, ducts, or pipes. Inspect systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect malfunctions in system component parts. Adjust system controls to settings recommended by vendor to prepare to perform tests. Test performance of air and hydronic systems, using specialized tools and test equipment, such as pitot tube, manometer, anemometer, velometer, tachometer, psychrometer, and thermometer, to isolate problems and determine where adjustments are necessary. Discuss system operation with users to verify that malfunctions have been corrected. Document results of performance testing and recommend corrective actions as required. Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Proof of US Citizenship 5 Years of documented experience in testing, balancing, and commissioning of HVAC systems. Experience with environmental control systems (DDC, pneumatic, or analog/electric). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Ability to read blueprint and schematic diagrams. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Be able to perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Be able to lift 50 lbs. Be able to work safely from ladders or scaffolding. Ability to work alone or in groups. Other skills and qualifications not required, but helpful are: Previous training (documented proof is required). Professional Licenses or Certifications (NEBB Certification is a plus). Trade Licenses or Certifications
