Job Description:
Laulima Government Solutions is looking for a qualified HVAC Technician to support mission functions of the Zahl Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL) Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC). The HVAC Technician will: · perform laboratory HVAC maintenance, and repair ·support maintenance related work orders · technician receives assignment with a minimum of accompanying instructions concerning the work methods to be used · may work directly with engineer, researcher or testing personnel while maintaining planning and modifying a system to meet specific conditions ·during the course of the projects, technician is expected to do repair and modification to meet conditions which are required by technical personnel ·consults with supervisor on problems, which are unique or are administrative problems such as the need for additional equipment ·work with minimal supervision or with a team of air conditioning, electricians, and maintenance mechanics ·tests, repairs, modifies, calculates, operates, maintains, overhauls, and calibrates small to large units ·troubleshoots, install, tests, repairs, modify, relocates, maintains, and calibrates refrigeration equipment, air conditioning equipment, pneumatics controls · interpret diagrams, drawings, technical manuals, and other instructions for air conditioning equipment, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings and use trade formulas · maintain and troubleshoot a variety of complex HVAC systems and equipment such as computers, clean rooms or other HVAC equipment · use tools and equipment to include, measuring tapes, grinders, power tools, cutters, pipe wrenches, volt, amp, ohm meters, thermometers, torches, computers, manometers, airflow measuring equipment, vacuum pumps and various hand tools ·assures that work assignments, procedures, sequence, methods, and deadlines are completed on time Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, electrical energy, dust, fumes, solvents grease, oils, moving machinery with moving parts, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces Physical Effort: Works from ground level, ladders, and platforms on equipment and systems where parts are hard-to-reach. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary. Degree/Education/Certification Requirements: ·Maryland State HVAC or Journeyman Air Conditioning License ·CFC Universal Certification ·Prefer: WSSC Backflow Prevention ·Prefer: BG&E High Pressure Gas Installation Required Skills and Experience: ·At least 10 years of experience in an industrial environment ·Must be citizens of the United States, either native-born or naturalized Preferences: · Experience with Siemens BMS systems, controls and components ·Experience with Honeywell BMS systems, controls and components ·Experience with Modicon BMS systems, controls and components ·Experience working on HVAC equipment that utilizes VAV boxes ·Superior troubleshooting skills. ·Superior analytical skills. ·Experience with specialty equipment used in cleanroom environments ·Experience working in and around class 1000, 100 and 10 clean rooms ·Experience working in and around laboratory environments, fume hoods, lab benches ·Experience with building, creating and working with preventive maintenance systems Clearance: ·Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
