Job Description:
The Sr. Facilities Technician Electrical / HVAC will perform duties and tasks in the operations, maintenance and repair of building equipment, systems and infrastructure. Primary responsibility for the operation and maintenance of building Electrical/HVAC equipment including package units, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, air handlers and building environmental controls Additionally, this individual will assist in facility general repairs and ensure the reliable operation of manufacturing/lab utilities and building systems. The candidate selected will be working with the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) and will process work orders for preventive and reactive maintenance of all building systems and utilities. The Sr. Facilities Technician Electrical / HVAC will coordinate repair work with contractors as needed and provide additional input to capital projects that occur within the facility. This individual will participate as a member of the on-call team and will coordinate work activities with other members of facilities. Responsibilities: 1. Diagnosing and repairing Electrical, HVAC and Mechanical equipment. 2. In accordance with the requirements of the Maintenance Management System (SAP), perform preventative and reactive maintenance work orders on all building equipment; maintain the operation of critical lab systems and compound storage freezers utilized in research operations. 3. Assist co-workers in daily maintenance functions such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical and facilities infrastructure support requirements in the manufacturing and lab environments. 4. Keep current with new technologies, licensing, equipment and regulatory requirements by attending meetings and training seminars as required; maintain compliance in SOP and Safety Training. Desired Skills and Experience: 1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 2. 10 to 15 years of related experience working with Electrical/HVAC equipment in manufacturing/lab environments or related facilities. Technical expertise in Electrical/HVAC and utility systems, knowledge of laboratory environments and compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations is required. Experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry preferred. 3. Strong background in troubleshooting various electrical, refrigeration and HVAC systems. 4. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet skills. 5. Massachusetts Refrigeration License 6. Massachusetts Electrical License 7. EPA Universal CFC Certification Working Demands: 1. Physical demands include standing, walking, crawling, climbing, bending or working over head to carry out tasks. 2. Lift or move up to 50 lbs., as required.
