Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION The primary role of the HVAC Skilled Maintenance position is to repair and perform maintenance service to all HVAC and mechanical equipment, in addition to operating the digital facility control system. This position reports directly to the Director of Maintenance. QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or equivalent • Licensed Journeyman or HVAC Associates Degree • Minimum of 5 years HVAC work experience • State of Michigan Mechanical Contractors License (Heating/Refrigeration/Air Conditioning service) • Hold a valid driver’s license and refrigeration license • Thorough knowledge of maintenance methods, procedures, practices, tools and equipment • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, peers and school community • Ability to plan and carry out preventative maintenance measures • Digital temperature control experience • Demonstrated problem solving • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manual • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, maintain a positive attitude and team approach, as well as dependable in nature RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES • Maintain all safety and code requirements of the state, City of Novi and Board of Education guidelines • Repair and maintain all types of air conditioning and refrigeration units • Repair and maintain all gas fired and hot water air handling units • Repair and maintain air handlers, unit ventilators, chillers, frequency drives and radiators along with other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment • Repair domestic, chilled and hot water heating pipes, pumps and associated components RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES (cont’d) • Perform regular preventative maintenance and boiler water treatment programs for all heating and air conditioning systems • Install and commission HVAC components • Accurately order and account for material and labor • Repair and maintain all DDC control systems • Manage technology as it pertains to essential communication, including but not limited to, the district cell phone and email account • Perform other skilled maintenance duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance WORKING CONDITIONS • Have sufficient strength, ability and dexterity to perform required skills • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and inclement conditions • May be required to work outside the normal work hours as necessary APPLICATION: For full consideration of your candidacy, please complete the entire online application on the Oakland Human Resources Consortium website at https://oakland.k12.mi.us/employment/job-postings by the deadline listed.
