Job Description:
The Role Binsky, a large scale mechanical contracting and service provider located in Central NJ is seeking a Virtual Designer. This full-time position requires a highly motivated mechanical piping designer dedicated to implementing advanced design technologies in the construction industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Virtual Designer requires knowledge and proficiency in creating complex Mechanical BIM models. •Creating 3D BIM piping models directly utilized in the construction of plumbing, HVAC and process systems. •Coordinate complex mechanical systems with other trades in a virtual environment •Create constructible design documents from contract drawings and specifications in collaboration with owner, engineers and other construction trades •Review construction documents, product literature, specifications and equipment cuts. •Survey and field measure existing buildings, structures and equipment •Translate engineering documents into constructible, dimensioned drawings and detailing all piping and components •Create piping isometrics and fabrication drawings from coordination drawings •Attend jobsite coordination meetings to resolve conflicts with other trades to create a fully coordinated construction effort. •Join a growing engineering department dedicated to implementing state of the art technologies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •Understanding of General Construction and MEP industry •Enthusiastic and able to learn CAD piping practices within a BIM environment •Awareness of Autodesk AutoCAD Fabrication CADmep, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office and motivated to learn the practice and application of each •Strong analytical and problem solving skills •Excel at working in a team environment and possess strong leadership qualities •Self-motivated with excellent communication skills •Organized and logical Minimum Education and Experience •5-year field experience installing, designing or supervising the installation of mechanical piping in the construction trade •Basic computer skills and the willingness to learn complex systems are a requirement •Must be comfortable working with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors and vendors •CAD or Autodesk certifications a plus Binsky values the well-being of its employees and offers competitive wages and a range of benefits.
