Ideally the successful candidate would be able to maintain all aspects related to the service side of the business. We are a small, but growing, company that requires someone who can multi-task and handle various roles. Responsibilities include start-up & commissioning of new equipment and maintaining & troubleshooting existing equipment. This position is responsible for providing technical support and training to customers, as well as support the company staff with technical/service related aspects. UEP Northeast is a manufacturer’s representative in the HVAC industry specializing in hydronic & steam equipment. UEP originated in 1984 serving the Baltimore/DC market and grew into the Philadelphia market in 2011. The Philadelphia office is now UEP Northeast and is solely owned by one of the founder’s sons. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Starting up, servicing, and setting fuel air mixtures for various fire-tube, water-tube boiler systems, and industrial boiler/burner systems. -Perform combustion/efficiency testing on Fuel fired equipment. -Starting up and servicing various controls on ancillary boiler room equipment. -----Feed water systems, Pre-heat kits, draft controls and pumping systems. -Building Management Systems interface with Modbus, BacNet. -Troubleshoot and/or make repairs on boilers, water heaters, pumps, draft equipment. -Provide end-user training and product demonstration -Handle all parts requests -Develop & improve processes in the Service Division. -Basic knowledge of OSHA and service safety requirements -Complete required documentation and communication associated with service work. -Obtain the needed training and knowledge base to maintain the ability to conduct service field work on assigned equipment and controls. -Develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support. -Demonstrate skill in technical areas related to the company products. -Function effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have: -High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate); -Five (5) years’ experience operating, maintaining, and servicing boilers and boiler equipment. -Valid driver’s license. -Construction industry or mechanical contracting experience -Understanding of construction drawings, as well as wiring diagrams. -Ability to work independently in the field without close supervision -Comprehensive knowledge for the service industry, electrical, mechanical methods, material, equipment, regulations, codes and practices. -Experience with all aspects related to the Service side of a company. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office software -Professional appearance and high integrity standards -Strong and dependable work ethic -High attention to detail and solid organizational skills. ***BENEFITS HIGHLIGHTS*** -Medical Insurance - Available to all full-time employees -Dental Insurance and Discount Vision Plan - Available to all full-time employees at their own expense -401(K) Employee Retirement Plan – The employer will match contributions up to 3% of participant’s compensation and 50% of contributions up to the next 2% of compensation.
