Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to support our Design-Build operation. Summary: Work with Project/Sales Managers to design HVAC projects as part of Design-Build team Thorough understanding of building mechanical systems and ability to select and design the optimum solution Develop and maintain project specifications and installation documents Experienced in mechanical, HVAC, piping, and plumbing design/drafting for the built environment Produce fully coordinated construction and fabrication drawings that are accurate, dimensioned, and clearly understood by field personnel and shop foreman Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Produce construction drawings ready to be sent to the field including: dimensioned location and elevations of equipment/piping/ductwork, wall/slab penetrations, sleeves, hangers, etc. Utilize building details and measurements to properly size and design commercial HVAC systems based on current industry standards and codes and regulations Produce mechanical equipment space layout drawings considering electrical/mechanical codes and maintenance clearances, coils pull, fan motors access, etc. … Comply with equipment manufacturer installation requirements once receiving that document (coils piping, condensate drains, etc.) Produce chilled water and condenser water piping layouts drawings Produce VRF piping layout drawings per manufacturers requirements Produce roof curbs & equipment layouts drawings Produce ductwork drawings per SMACNA ductwork standards Transform ductwork sizes to an equivalent duct sizes when needed (familiar with duct calculator) Effectively communicate with customers and technicians to resolve any concerns Identify equipment needs and place orders as necessary Develop strategic partnerships with supply houses and other vendors Keep abreast of current mechanical codes, regulations, and industry trends Utilize technology for work management, including AutoCAD 2018, Microsoft Office, estimating, and our internal ERP software Ability to perform field/site visit for data gathering and as-built drawings preparation Qualifications: Proficient in the reading and understanding of architectural, mechanical and structural drawings Thorough understanding of ducted and piped building mechanical systems Excellent CAD skills; proficient with AutoCAD 2018 5 years’ experience with mechanical contractor minimum Job Type: Full-time Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year Experience: CAD Software: 5 years (Required) Microsoft Office: 5 years (Required) CAD: 5 years (Required)
