Job Description:
The Service Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a service area, which also includes performing service work as needed. Directly supervises 3-7 employees, carries out company policies and procedures. This position reports to the Regional Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Hire, train, discipline and terminate technicians needed (with the support of the Regional Manager and HR). • Ensure branch technicians are compliance to corporate policies and procedures. • Supervise, coordinate and work on every equipment install. • Run service calls as needed. • Order parts daily; ensure all service calls and quoted jobs are completed in a timely manner. • Create on-call schedule for technicians and communicate this to dispatch on a weekly basis. • Be available for technical questions from technicians, at any time of day. • Perform technician safety inspections monthly. • Perform site surveys monthly. • Assist the Account Managers with any information they need in order to complete their daily duties. • Coordinate and responsible for daily schedule. • Report to Regional Manager. Education/Experience Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent. • Trade school graduate in HVAC / R curriculum or equivalent work experience. • E.P.A. certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal. • NATE Certification within 12 months of hire. • Possess a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record. • In depth working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, electrical, HVAC/R and EMS systems. • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and people. • Excellent analytical and decision making skills. • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently. • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing/background check, physical, driving record (MVR). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • High standard of time management, communication, professionalism, adaptability and dependability. • Must be able to lead and motivate employees in working as a team • Demonstrates basic computer skills; Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. • Above average troubleshooting skills.
