In this position you will be responsible for managing the creation of and ongoing maintenance of service parts associated with all finished goods and accessories. Create service assemblies as needed to provide packaging, instructions, or related items, aka Kits. Coordinate with Technical Writer on Service Parts Catalogs to ensure parts catalogs contain the appropriate service parts and that these parts are released to service and available to customers. Manage parts substitutions, consolidations and obsolesces to minimize SKUs, reduce inventory requirements and maximize component usability. Responsibilities: May include: Manage all aspects of making service parts available to order by our customers. Develop service assemblies and service parts packaging. Work with production departments as required producing and packaging service parts. Bring on board specialty tools and or accessory items as required to service the product and or reduce warranty costs. Review PCN’s and ER’s to determine new part requirements, consolidation and or obsolesces. Investigate and resolve engineering changes related to service part interchangeability. Analyze and resolve deviations, suggestions, and customer inquiries relative to service parts. Create substitutions/consolidations to minimize SKU count and maximize part usability. Review parts catalogs, verify existence of service parts, and ensure all aspects of service parts release have been completed. Utilize drafting resources to create service only items; ensuring the appropriate Mapics data is entered, costing and pricing is established and loaded and that the parts are loaded and stocking orders have been placed in service parts. Qualifications: -2+ years’ experience in Mapics or similar manufacturing systems -Associates Degree in a mechanical or technical discipline or equivalent -Understanding of assembly BOM structures as it relates to service -Mechanical aptitude relative to repair of consumer products - MS-Office skilled -Applicant must be skilled in interpreting BOM lists and drawings for establishing service parts and repair parts catalogs. -Must be familiar with Mapics or similar manufacturing systems relative to manufacturing BOM’s, routings, item creation, etc. -Capable of interfacing with Engineering, Marketing, Accounting, Service Parts and other internal departments to quickly and efficiently maintain repair parts. -Possess good verbal, telephone and written communication skills to communication & collaboration with team members and customers. -Field service knowledge or experience servicing HVAC equipment or appliances desired. -Applicant must be a highly motivated, self-starter type individual. Must be capable of occasional travel to other manufacturing sites as required.
