The responsibilities for this position includes but are not limited to fabricating prototypes parts from sketches and prints, assembling engineering prototype units to be tested in engineering labs. Working with design engineers in the development of new designs. Working with various materials and working with various machinery. Responsibilities Help with the design of new products being developed in engineering. Fab parts from prints, sketches, and/or ideas discussed. Build prototype and developmental units for testing and for fit and function of design. Be able to work well as a team member as well as on your own. Help with the support of the labs with test preparation. Perform other job duties as needed and required. Qualifications High School or GED required. Machinist Classes or Sheet metal classes a plus Good communication skills – oral and in writing when required. Working knowledge of the following a plus: Hand brake, Press brake, Gas weld, Wire weld, Arc weld, Tig weld, Braze, Lathe, Power shear, Vacuum form molding, Mill, 3 axis programmable mill, Various saws, Metal Formers, Plastic Formers, 3D Printer, CNC Water Jet, Various hand formers and tools CNC Machining center Must be able to read prints and sketches. Must be able to do sheet metal layout. Some computer skills may be required – Microsoft Office and Design Cad Good attendance record is required. Excellent follow-up and attention to detail skills are required.
