Job Description:
Wright Brothers Contracting Services Inc. Provides construction management, general contracting, and related services throughout Florida. Wright Brothers specialized in new construction for residential multi-family and commercial. We are seeking an HVAC Field Supervisor The HVAC Supervisor is an experienced HVAC Mechanic who leads, motivates, monitors, and supervises a team of HVAC Mechanics to ensure they produce quality work. This position also provides technical guidance regarding the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment for Wright Brothers Contracting Services, Inc., and functions as a mechanic in addition to providing supervision. Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): · Direct HVAC mechanics and contractors engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all the college’s HVAC systems including, but not limited to, monitoring, troubleshooting, calibrating, inputting schedules, repairing, trending, and adjusting all HVAC systems utilizing the building automation system. · Interpret and enforce Wright Brothers policies. Responsible for supervisory duties including a recommendation for hire/termination, evaluation, coaching, and discipline. · Verify employee time sheets for accuracy; approve and submit. · Assist with the development and oversight of the HVAC maintenance budget. · Provide hands-on supervision of maintenance and repairs. · Respond to customer-generated work requests; prioritize, schedule, and assign work to staff; complete work order data in a computerized work management tracking system. · Ensure all tasks are complete adhering to Florida Mechanical Code, NEC, ADAAA, and EPA guidelines as well as other applicable codes and standards. · Plan and organize jobs; create a material list and procure tools for work order jobs and projects. · Identify the need for and develop preventive maintenance programs for HVAC systems and equipment. · Participate in pre-construction plan reviews. · Work in confined spaces and elevated platforms. · Read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, and various wiring diagrams. · Work with other department supervisors to coordinate tasks requiring group effort. · Practice proper work methods and techniques; comply with applicable standards and specifications; enforce safety regulations to ensure compliance in providing a safe environment for staff, faculty, contractors, visitors, and students. · Assist other trades as needed. · Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. · Perform other duties as assigned. · Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. Knowledge and Skills Required: · Thorough knowledge of heating, ventilation, and refrigeration theory · Considerable knowledge of the design and operation of centrifugal and reciprocal compressors · Considerable knowledge of the design and operation of pneumatic control systems · Working knowledge of electricity · Ability to train and supervise others · Ability to prioritize, plan, assign, coordinate, and direct the work of HVAC mechanics and crew leaders · Ability to design smaller systems or design modifications to larger systems · Ability to review and critique plans and specifications for HVAC and environmental control systems · Coordinating skills to schedule work so classes are not interrupted; maintain records of time and materials used on all jobs · Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job. · Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs. · Incumbent must be able to work well as a team member; must be self-driven, reliable, and responsible · Leadership skills to supervise the work of the HVAC department · Ability to perform special assignments as required or to meet the ongoing needs of the department At Wright Brothers Contracting Services Inc. we believe outstanding employees build the foundation necessary for business excellence.
