Our experienced and multi-disciplined engineering and technical staff have assisted hundreds of our customers to implement efficient and environmentally friendly solutions that reduce utility usage and cut operating costs. Job Description Guardian Energy Management Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a licensed MA Journeyman Pipefitter, preferably with a MA plumbing license, to install projects and perform service work for our commercial and municipal clients. A substantial portion of our work is prevailing wage, with the opportunity for overtime. As a licensed Pipefitter/Plumber, you will be responsible for the quality installation of mechanical projects, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, cooling towers, pumps and the associated piping systems. Applicants should have excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills, be detailed oriented, organized, and possess a positive attitude. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Manage and install mechanical projects provided by our design team while offering feedback as needed to properly implement projects according to schedule and code • Diagnose, install, repair, and replace mechanical system components and piping • Perform troubleshooting and offer solutions for service call and warranty related work • Effectively communicate with customers and internal resources • Inform management of any potential issues that will impact project schedule, productivity or safety • Lead, direct and mentor junior staff in their day-to-day performance • Coordinate work with other trades • Order material to keep the project moving forward • Stand inspections • Maintain a clean job site • Attend jobsite meetings and toolbox talks • Review packing slips against material and equipment delivered to the jobsite • Attend training sessions as set-up and provided by Guardian • Keep accurate time records • Adhere to all safety and handbook policies and document and report injuries immediately Job Qualifications • 3+ years of hands on commercial experience installing and repairing HVAC (non-residential) systems • A proven track record of safely implementing projects with the highest quality of workmanship • Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable codes • Experience diagnosing and trouble-shooting equipment and systems • Effective communication skills • Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment that includes sales staff, engineers, project managers and other trades • Experience working with, managing and training an apprentice • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings • Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in confined or high places and climb ladders and stairs Licensing Requirements • A minimum of a MA Journeyman Pipefitter license and preferably a MA Journeyman Plumbing license. • Valid driver’s license • OSHA-10 Certification Candidates with additional HVAC trade related licenses and certifications or additional licensure in NH, CT, ME or RI will be given preferential consideration.
