Job Description:
HVAC Technician Foreman (Team Lead) **SIGN ON BONUS

Licensing/Certifications:
Preferred - SDCI Journeyman Refrigeration License Class C (Freon and Ammonia)
Required - EPA Universal Section 608 Technician Certification
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of refrigeration theory, practices, procedures, equipment, tools, and materials.
Observes and interprets meters and gauges and performs repair of refrigeration and auxiliary equipment.
Monitors/inspects the facility for refrigeration/mechanical problems and/or equipment malfunctions.
Maintains company maintenance records and logs.
Knowledge of Chillers, Compressors, Evaporators, Cooling Towers, Penthouse AHU’s, Heat Pumps, Refrigerants, Two-stage systems, Brazing, Reclaim/Recharge Procedures, LOTO, Emergency Response
Must be proficient in the installation of refrigeration piping system, which may include brazing and soldering, as well as pressure testing, evacuation, recovery, and charging techniques.
Must have knowledge of system start-up and ability to trouble-shoot if needed.
Ductwork installation
EPA, L&I, and SDCI Regulations
MECHANICAL
Proficiency with equipment teardowns, installations, and repairs.
Large fan shafts, bearings, motors, and HVAC components.
Disassemble, and rig safely, heavy components such as motors, steel beams & delicate internal pieces.
Install & align motors, sheeves, and belts on medium to large systems.
Fabricate steel & sheet metal parts such as replacement plates, stiffening braces & brackets.
Repair or replace worn or corroded internal parts.
Experience with designing systems as it relates to retrofitting existing systems,
Ability to read and follow blueprints or mechanical drawings provided by the manufacturer or project managers/contractors.
Perform piping system basic design, repair, or replacement using PVC, copper, or steel pipes.
A basic knowledge of water filtration systems, as it relates to cooling tower sweeper systems or water loop filters.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Something past high school should be good, perhaps an Associate Degree or similar trade school
Qualified trade programs and/or field experience.
Experience:
Preferred - 6-8 years, commercial and industrial
Required - 3-5 years, commercial or industrial

Flexible schedule - multiple locations & projects
Willingness to travel out of town on projects from time to time.
Team oriented leadership
Communication - must communicate effectively with Project Manager, logs, and task updates.
Presentation & composure a professional manner both in appearance and action.

Benefits:
PTO (eligible to earn 2 weeks/year, year 1 - 5 years; 3 weeks/year after 5 years)

Hourly pay - $32 - $48
OT Occasional, OT required for shift or plant shutdown scheduled.
